Continue With Investigation

We will continue with your cell process investigation, we will do the small group activity today. Remember this will be used as a source and that I will answer any questions you have on your topic.

Continue with Cell Investigation

We will continue with the investigation today. You will need to finish with the video for your specific topic and then create a claim based on the video. Over the next two days I will take each group for a few minutes. Taber Dominguez is the coolest NERD out there! We will go over an article together on your specific topic and I will provide clarification on some of the questions you have.

Cell Processes

We will finish up the pond water activity and start moving into a few of the main processes various cells need to survive. You will be looking at one of the following; Cellular Respiration, Photosynthesis or Mitosis. You will become an expert in the area you pick and will eventually teach a few pf your classmates about it.

Final Claim & Pond Water Activity

We have a few different activities to complete today. We will spend the first part of the class going over what a good final claim and reflection looks like and you will have time to complete yours. Second, a discussion over the concept of structure and how it relates to function. We will transition from there into the pond water activity, you will have a chance to use the microscope to try and discover pond water organisms.

Continue Investigation

We are going to continue to work on our investigation. We will stop at about the half way point of class and have a short discussion on what you are finding and if there are any good web sites you would like to share with the class.

Cell Investigation

We are going to continue with the student notes & research portion of the Cell Investigation. Last class you created your claim and evidence now it is time to see how it compares to your classmates and the experts.

Continue Cell Investigation

We will continue with the cell investigation on specialized cells. Remember if we do not have a slide of the cells you want to look at you should be able to find them using google images. After looking at your cells, you will need to analyze your data and create a claim and evidence. We will review the claim and evidence portion in class today.

Review Unicellular & Multicellular, Start Investigation

We will review unicellular and multicellular organisms to start the class. From there we will transition into our investigation on specialized cells, You will pick 2-4 specific cells to look at and investigate how they are built and what specific jobs they do.

Bell Ringer- Be ready to share with the class which one you think is more suited for life, unicellular or multicellular.

Unicellular and Multicellular

We will spend the first few minutes reviewing Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes. The majority of class will be you individually going through a blendspace on Unicellular and Multicellular organisms. I will explain the blendspace in more detail when class begins.

Review Over Cells

I hope everyone had a good break, we are going to spend the majority of today talking about prokaryotes and eukaryotes. We will spend a few minutes talking about the microscope and other cell basics too.
