Reproduction

We have been spending the majority of our time looking out how genetic traits are passed from two parents to offspring. But what happens when there is only one parent? What would the offspring look like? Remember we will also have our quiz on Wednesday of next week.

Punnett Square

We will be working on Punnett Square work today. We will start class with a short video on how Punnett Squares are complete and why we sue them. You will go through a few practice activities on your own. You will have to fill a Punnett Square on your quiz. Make sure you have your Heredity vocabulary sheet, you will need to know a few words to be successful on your final worksheet.

Trait Survey

We will be completing the Trait Survey today. You will be looking at a handful of traits that both you and your classmates have. We will look and see if you have more dominant or recessive traits both as an individual and a class. The survey also consists of creating a graph and completing a few questions.

 Bell Ringer - Continue to work on your vocabulary from last class. When you have completed that copy down the  chart from the board in your notebook.

We are getting ready to start the last mini unit of the year Genetics! We will look at how and why you have the appearance and traits that you do. This is unit will only take about 2 weeks. Stay focused, the genetics quiz will be the last one in the grade book.

Nervous System Quiz

We will be taking the Nervous System Quiz today. We will go through a short Kahoot to help review before the quiz. The majority of the questions are directly related to our quiz, but there are few fun fact questions. Remember Friday is the track meet, there will be no Science. The Nervous System

We will watch a video for the first half of class on how the Nervous System responds to certain situations and how the brain can be tricked based on perceptions we have. The second half of class we will go through some of the different areas of the brain and what they specifically control.

Different Minds

We are going to complete an activity today looking at how your mind functions. We will go through 4 different stations and you will be able to see how different minds/brains respond to situations/stimuli. You will be completing these activities at your table working with the person next you. You will also have to record how fast your are completing the different activities and then  compare your results ro the rest of the classes.
