Earth's Systems

We will be starting our second unit on Earth' Systems. We will start the unit by looking at how materials flow through a cycle. Specifically looking at how processes act together to form minerals and rocks (rock cycle). We will beginning the unit with a pretest, probe on what rocks are & and interactive vocabulary activity.

Google Slides Assessment

Congratulations you have almost made it through the 1st trimester of Science. The last activity we will be completing is a google slide presentation providing some basic information on all the mini units we worked on during the Matter Unit. I have attached a scoring rubric with the things you need to include in your google slides on Google Classroom, there is also a blank google slide presentation for you to use.

Finalizing Matter Investigation

You will finish up your matter investigation today. We will have a class discussion over what you have found during the investigation. After the discussion you will need to make a final claim and provide evidence for why you believe you claim is correct. We will then go over the criteria for the final project of the unit

Investigation on Matter

We will start our investigation on whether or not matter can be created or destroyed. You and a partner will pick a side, then design a test to see if you are correct. You will be trying to prove either matter can or can not be created or destroyed. You need to make sure that as you carry out your test you are collecting data to back up your findings. Be creative with your test, the possibilities are endless.
